SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jane Rosemary Evans of Pekin, who
4passed away on August 20, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jane Evans was born to Samuel C. and Edith M.
6(Kinsinger) Westerhouse in Franklin, Minnesota on December 1,
71944; she married Richard Dale "Jack" Evans in Miami, Oklahoma
8on December 10, 1960, and he preceded her in death in Peoria on
9August 5, 2020; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jane Evans worked as a machinist for Caterpillar,
11Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2002; she was a member of United
12Auto Workers (UAW) Local 974, and she was serving as the
13current president of the UAW retirees at the time of her
14passing; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jane Evans was a member of Grace United Methodist
16Church in Pekin; she enjoyed solving puzzles and working in
17her yard; she also enjoyed watching birds from her kitchen
18after making sure her bird feeders were full; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jane Evans loved her children and grandchildren,
20and she was always focused on helping others; and

1    WHEREAS, Jane Evans was preceded in death by her parents;
2her son, James Evans; her grandson, Matthew Evans; her
3brothers, Glen, Doug, Paul, and Bob; and her sister, Doris;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jane Evans is survived by her sons, Jack
6(Michelle) Evans and Joseph (Kim) Evans; her daughter, Jessie
7(Carey) Rice; her grandchildren, Tyler (Holly) Evans, Felicia
8(Derek) Auth, Danielle (Eric) McElroy, Zachary (Adrianna)
9Rice, Bendigo (Chassidy) Evans, and Pete (Elena) Evans; and
10her 11 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Jane Rosemary Evans and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Jane Evans as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
