SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Village President Louis E. French of
4Holiday Hills, who passed away on July 31, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, President French was born in Elmhurst on April
623, 1958; he was the son of Louis French and Alberta
7(Scaglione) French and the stepson of William Meyer; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Prior to serving the Village of Holiday Hills,
9President French was a firefighter, paramedic, and rescue
10diver for Nunda Township and the Fox Lake Fire Protection
11District; and
 
12    WHEREAS, President French was serving in his second term
13as president of the Village of Holiday Hills at the time of his
14passing; prior to being elected president, he served as
15village trustee; during his tenure, he was noted for his
16commitment and dedication to the village and the community;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, President French was affectionately known as "Big
19Lou", "Lou", and "Louie"; he deeply loved his family; he
20enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing his guitars, and spoiling
21his dogs; he will be remembered for his larger-than-life

1personality, his energy, and his good heart; and
 
2    WHEREAS, President French was preceded in death by his
3parents and stepfather; and
 
4    WHEREAS, President French is survived by three daughters,
5one son, six grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, 18
6nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and
7friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Louis E. French and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of President French as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
