SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mark N. Kessler of Springfield, who
4passed away on April 24, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Kessler was born to Bill Kessler and Grace
6R. Katz in Springfield on November 16, 1947; he married Kathy
7Thompson in Springfield on September 4, 1984; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Kessler started Recycled Records with his
9brother, Gary, on the balcony of their family's Springfield
10Furniture Store, eventually expanding into the entire
11building; together, they developed Recycled Records into a
12beloved staple of Springfield frequented by audiophiles and
13collectors alike; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mark Kessler was presented with the Wally
15Henderson Lifetime Achievement Award by Downtown Springfield
16Inc. (DSI) in 2019; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mark Kessler enjoyed collecting antique glass and
18jewelry and playing in National Bridge Tournaments; he will be
19remembered as a beloved and thoughtful person; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mark Kessler is survived by his wife, Kathy; his

1brother, Gary Kessler; his aunt, Florence Treiber; his first
2cousins, Sue (Arnie) Cohen, Ron (Nancy) Treiber, Judy
3Feinberg, and Henry (Debbie) Feinberg; and his beloved
4Goldendoodle, Ace; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Mark N. Kessler and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Mark Kessler as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
