SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marjorie Elizabeth "Marge" Paulson of Peoria, who passed away on April 20, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Marge Paulson was born to Walter and Elizabeth (Oberlander) Gerber in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 26, 1943; she graduated from Methodist School of Nursing in June of 1965; she married Gary Paulson in Morton on April 3, 1966; she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Sangamon State University in May of 1991; and

WHEREAS, Marge Paulson worked as a nurse for the Peoria State Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Keystone, Eureka Hospital, and lastly the American Red Cross, from which she retired in 2007; and

WHEREAS, Marge Paulson volunteered and served on the board for the Junior League of Peoria and the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary; she was a lifetime member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she served in a number of different roles; and

WHEREAS, Marge Paulson was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Glenn Gerber; and

WHEREAS, Marge Paulson is survived by her three children, Andy (Jen) Paulson, Julie (Bill Smith) Paulson, and Kevin (Melissa) Paulson, and her four grandchildren, Baylen Paulson, Callie Paulson, Kahler Paulson, and Archie Paulson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marjorie Elizabeth "Marge" Paulson and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marge Paulson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
