HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Kevin Woodside on the occasion of being named the 2022 Gurnee Days Honoree; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the Gurnee Days Honoree is an individual who has demonstrated exceptional service to the Village of Gurnee community; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Woodside has served as a trustee of the Village of Gurnee since May 2021; and

WHEREAS, Prior to that, Kevin Woodside served in the Gurnee Police Department for 30 years, retiring as chief in January 2019; he previously held a variety of leadership positions from October 1997 to May 2004 and served as deputy police chief from May 2004 to July 2011, focusing on the development of officers and preparing the department for the future; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Woodside formerly served as the community service officer for the Village of Mount Prospect from 1983 to 1988; and

WHEREAS, Kevin Woodside has also contributed his time and resources by serving on the boards of the Gurnee Exchange Club, PADS Lake County, and The Chapel Chicagoland; and

WHEREAS, In Gurnee, Kevin Woodside and his wife, Cathy, successfully raised their four children, Mike, Julia, Alex, and Greg; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Kevin Woodside on being named the 2022 Gurnee Days Honoree, and thank him for his dedication and service to the Village of Gurnee; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Kevin Woodside as an expression of our esteem and respect.
