HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Pinckneyville High School boys varsity basketball team, the Panthers, on winning their 2000th game; and

WHEREAS, The Panthers opened their season celebrating their 2000th win after playing the Chester High School boys varsity basketball team, the Yellow Jackets, on November 24, 2021; and

WHEREAS, The Panthers defeated the Yellow Jackets 60-24, creating yet another milestone for Pinckneyville High School that was 105 years in the making; and

WHEREAS, The 2021-2022 Panthers are Duke Riggins, Nile Adcock, Pearson Launius, Asher Jausel, Hunter Smith, Isaac Queen, Kellen Scott, Lance Brokering, Jase Lee, Vaden Szczepanski, Riley Mohr, Joey Iaccino, Trey Moll, and Karsen Konkel; their names will be enshrined in Pinckneyville High School history for their contribution to the school's march to its 2000th win in varsity boys basketball; and

WHEREAS, Robert "Bob" Waggoner, current head coach of the Panthers, has broadened the basketball program's rich heritage with a record of 337-91 over the past 14 years, resulting in high hopes as he enters his 15th season; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Pinckneyville High School boys varsity basketball team, the Panthers, for achieving their 2000th win, and we wish the team continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Robert "Bob" Waggoner and Pinckneyville High School Principal Tony Wilson as an expression of our esteem and respect.
