SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Brian David Kelly of Champaign, who
4passed away on January 21, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Brian Kelly was born in Vandalia on September 19,
61974; he graduated from Vandalia Community High School and
7Southern Illinois University, where he majored in political
8science; he married Megan Louise Coblentz on February 5, 2009;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Brian Kelly was a dedicated public servant,
11working for the Illinois State Legislature, two congressmen,
12and finally as Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk for Champaign County;
13he was a passionate problem-solver; he helped people with their
14most challenging issues, whether it was driving a person in
15need to a job interview or calling every agency contact he knew
16to help a family through a difficult immigration process;
17colleagues will remember him as a true partner and a steadfast
18supporter; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Brian Kelly enjoyed traveling with his wife,
20particularly to the San Francisco Bay area and to Pawleys
21Island in South Carolina; he also enjoyed golfing and reading
22American history; he was known for his humor and wit; and

1    WHEREAS, Brian Kelly is survived by his wife; his parents,
2Robert Michael "Mike" and Paulette (Bandelow) Kelly; his
3brother, Joseph Kelly; his sister, Jennifer (Randy) Barton; his
4nephews, Jakob and Nicholas "Nick"; his dog, Harper; and other
5cherished family members and friends; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Brian David Kelly and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Brian Kelly as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
