SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death James A. "Jimmy" Cullerton who passed away
4on August 7, 2019 in Michigan; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jimmy Cullerton was born in Chicago to Lucile
6(Chambers) and James J. Cullerton on June 14, 1939; he was the
7oldest of 25 grandchildren descended from Alice B. (Morahan)
8and James J. Cullerton; he was a graduate of St. Mel's High
9School in Chicago; he married Vera McCrory in Oak Park on May
108, 1965; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jimmy Cullerton served in the Illinois National
12Guard and was a member in good standing for 60 years of IBEW
13Local 134; he worked as an electrician for Cook County for 32
14years before retiring to Michigan; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Throughout his life, Jimmy Cullerton was actively
16engaged in public service; he was a loyal friend to many; his
17tremendous sense of humor warmed the hearts of his family and
18friends; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jimmy Cullerton was preceded in death by his
20parents and his brother, Terrence M. Cullerton; and

1    WHEREAS, Jimmy Cullerton is survived by his loving wife of
254 years, Vera; children, Colleen (Russell) Roman, Jimmy
3Cullerton, Andy (Jeanette) Cullerton, Amy (Dennis) Wantroba,
4and Thomas "T.J." Cullerton; grandchildren, Shannon, Jake,
5Brody, Ethan, and Madison; sisters, Helen (Mike) O'Connell and
6Patricia "Patsy" (Tom) O'Halleran; sister-in-law, Florence
7Cullerton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11James A. "Jimmy" Cullerton and extend our sincere condolences
12to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Jimmy Cullerton as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
