SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marshall "Marsh" E. LeSueur of Deerfield, who passed away on November 19, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Marshall and Marguerite LeSueur; he enlisted in the Army in 1942 and served for three years during World War II in New Caledonia and the Philippines as a First Sergeant; he was awarded six medals for his service; and

WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur attended Northwestern University Law School, earning his J.D. in 1950; he married Adrienne (Addie) in 1951; and

WHEREAS, After settling the family in Deerfield, Marshall LeSueur became active in the community; he served as Deerfield Police Commissioner and was a longtime member of St. Gregory's Church, serving on the vestry, as a warden, and as an Eucharistic Minister; and

WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur was an incurable Francophile, a history buff, a competitive tennis player, and a skilled do-it-yourselfer and was extremely proud of his family; and

WHEREAS, Marshall LeSueur is survived by sons, Max, Dave (Dody), Steve (Karen), and Chris; daughter, Meg; grandchildren, Jake, Nia, Henry (Kat), Calvin, Eric (Elizabeth), Ian (Kristin), Christopher, Grace, Frankie, and Stephen; great-grandson, Benjamin; and a multitude of nephews, nieces, and their children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marshall "Marsh" E. LeSueur and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marshall LeSueur as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
