SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert F. "Bob" Scholtes Jr. of Joliet, who passed away on December 26, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Bob Scholtes was born in Joliet to Betty (Fugett) and Robert Scholtes Sr. on November 14, 1957; and

WHEREAS, Bob Scholtes was chief of the East Joliet Fire Protection District since November of 1975; and

WHEREAS, Bob Scholtes was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scholtes Sr.; and

WHEREAS, Bob Scholtes was the beloved husband of Michele (McGann); the loving father of Kathryn "Lynn" (Donrasoul) Berry, Brandon (Jessica) Scholtes, Megan Scholtes, and Matthew Scholtes; the cherished papa of Lauren, Leah, Alyah, Ziggy, and Gevina Berry and Brayden, Autumn, and Ava Scholtes; the dear brother of Daniel Scholtes, Timothy Scholtes, and Kenneth (Sharon) Scholtes; the loved son-in-law of Thomas and Theodora McGann; the brother-in-law of Thomas (Madelyn) McGann, the late Kevin (Kimberly) McGann, and Steven (Rita) McGann; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; and cousin to many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert F. "Bob" Scholtes Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Scholtes as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
