SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara J. "Barb" Olson of Schaumburg, who passed away on December 11, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Barb Olson was born to Swan and Marian (Filson) Edlund on December 2, 1948; she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls; and

WHEREAS, Barb Olson was active with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America; she was a member of the American Association of University Women, Church Women United, and the Girl Scouts; she loved life, flowers, antiques, traveling, and being involved with causes that made the world a better place; and

WHEREAS, Barb Olson was the adoring wife of 47 years of Ken; the loving mother of Jennifer (Brandon) Scholl and Stephanie; the fond grandmother of Blake, Bennett, Brooklyn, Briella, and Brianna; the dear twin sister of the late Marilyn; the beloved sister-in-law of Anita (Robert) Damon and Calvin (Ione) Olson; and a loving aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Barbara J. "Barb" Olson and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barb Olson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
