SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia "Patty" Busboom, formerly of Urbana, who passed away on November 28, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Patty Busboom was born in Champaign to Clifford Pete and Sally (Wood) Wilborn on December 27, 1936; she graduated from Champaign High School in 1954, where she was the first Maxi Maroon; she married Wayne Busboom in Rantoul on February 12, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Patty Busboom worked at various businesses in the Champaign area, including Carle; she wrote a column for the Urbana Courier and did bookkeeping for the family farm; she was best known for the hot meals she carried out to the farmers in the fields; and

WHEREAS, Patty Busboom was an officer on the Champaign County Board; she was proud of her involvement in politics and was involved in the Champaign County Farm Bureau; she was a former member of the American Lutheran Church in Rantoul; and

WHEREAS, Patty Busboom was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; and her brother, Larry Wilborn; and

WHEREAS, Patty Busboom is survived by her children, Robert Scott (Paula) Busboom and Shari (Dave) Lendy; her grandchildren, Abby (Shawn) Guenther and Jack Lendy; and her great-grandson, Peyton Guenther; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patricia "Patty" Busboom and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patty Busboom as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
