SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William "Bill" Bruce of Moline, who passed away on November 4, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Bill Bruce was born in Lake Bruce, Indiana to James and Alma (Edlin) Bruce on June 1, 1935; he served in the U.S. Army and married Peggy Brown in Gary, Indiana on January 27, 1962; and

WHEREAS, Bill Bruce was employed by American Family Insurance for over 32 years, retiring in 2000; and

WHEREAS, Bill Bruce was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Scottish Rite, Doric, Grotto, and the High-12 Club; he was a recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honor Award; and

WHEREAS, Bill Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister; and

WHEREAS, Bill Bruce is survived by his wife, Peggy; his daughter, Linda Bruce; his son, Mike Bruce; and his brother, John (Becky) Bruce; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William "Bill" Bruce and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Bruce as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
