SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jeffrey John Leech, who passed away on November 1, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was born in Moline to Harold A. and Lucille M. (Boss) Leech on December 8, 1946; he served in the U.S. Army and married Sue Beecher on September 14, 1984; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was an automotive restoration specialist, specializing in restoring Corvettes; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was an important figure in the lives of many of his children's friends and was affectionately known as "Papa Jeff"; he was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church; some of his favorite pastimes included playing baseball, golfing, and fishing with his kids; he also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his many good friends and building and flying radio-controlled airplanes; he hosted hog roasts for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue; his children, Rebecca (Ian) Schroeder, Katherine Leech, Thomas (Carly) Leech, and Stacie; his grandchildren, Theodore and Eleanora Leech; his dog, Sadie; a sister and a brother; and the Beecher clan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jeffrey John Leech and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jeffrey Leech as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
