SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wendell Turley of Mechanicsburg, who
4passed away on October 29, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wendell Turley was born in Springfield to Jerome
6and Edna (Fosnaugh) Turley on October 15, 1935; he married Rita
7Van Pelt on May 15, 1955; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Wendell Turley began farming at the age of 16 and
9continued up until his death; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Wendell Turley was active in different farm
11organizations; he served on the Tri-City school board for 15
12years and regularly attended Buffalo-Hart Presbyterian Church;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Wendell Turley was preceded in death by his
15parents; his son, Jerome "Jerry"; and his daughter-in-law,
16Connie Turley; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Wendell Turley is survived by his wife, Rita; his
18sons, David (Karla) and John "Randy"; his daughter, Nancy (Ken)
19Harvill; his sisters, Doris Davis, Sharon Booker, Joann Semple,
20and Patricia Martin; his grandchildren, Michael (Jennie) Curry

1Jr., Amanda (Michael) Hill, Meghan (Mike) Roller, Melissa
2(Michael) Earles, David (Samantha) Turley Jr., and Macklin
3(Raegan) Austin; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces,
4nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Wendell Turley and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Wendell Turley as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
