SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas L. "Tom" Dasso of Rock Island, who passed away on September 12, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Tom Dasso was born in Rock Island to Henry L. and Margaret E. Rettig Dasso on October 9, 1937; he graduated from Alleman High School in 1955; he served in the United States Air Force from 1957 until 1961; he married Betty J. Lawrence in 1958; he later married Virginia A. Hawk in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Tom Dasso worked as a computer systems analyst at Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company for over 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Tom Dasso was a member of the Rock Island County Ducks Unlimited Committee for 35 years, the Delta Waterfowl, the NRA, and the Bi-State Sportsman's Club; he was a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited; he loved the Mississippi River; he enjoyed hunting ducks, fishing, and gatherings of family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Tom Dasso was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Dasso; and his sister, Mary Ann Engles; and

WHEREAS, Tom Dasso is survived by his sons, Todd L. (Sandy) Dasso and Mark T. (Sunita) Dasso; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Henry "Bud" Dasso; and his special friend, Marilyn VandeWalle; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas L. "Tom" Dasso and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Dasso as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
