SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Albert W. Castrey of Rock Island, who passed away on August 8, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Albert Castrey was born in Moline to Francis and Eleanor Alger Castrey on March 18, 1926; he married Vera Ackeberg on October 29, 1952; she preceded him in death; he later married Wanda Polley in Milan on January 2, 1999; and

WHEREAS, Albert Castrey was a veteran of the United States Army; he retired from Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric after 40 years of service; he was a life member of IBEW Local 109; and

WHEREAS, Albert Castrey was a life member of Trio Lodge No. 57 A.F. & A.M. Milan, the Milan American Legion Post 569, and the Rock Island Conservation Club; he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, camping, and woodworking; and

WHEREAS, Albert Castrey was preceded in death by his father; his mother; his stepfather, Raymond Dryoel; his first wife, Vera; and his stepson, Larry Smith; and

WHEREAS, Albert Castrey is survived by his wife, Wanda Polley-Castrey; his sons, Raymond (Margaret) Castrey, Gregory (Gina) Castrey, and Steven (Amy) Castrey; his stepsons, Terry (Cindy) Smith and Leslie (Stephanie) Polley; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Albert W. Castrey and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Albert Castrey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
