SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carolyn Louise (Hill) McNeely of St. Peters, Missouri, formerly of Bloomington, who passed away on June 30, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn McNeely was born in Bloomington to Cecil Hill and Mildred (Warner) Carsel on February 18, 1941; she graduated from Bloomington High School; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn McNeely raised her family in Pekin and Champaign; she owned several small businesses, including The Edsel Bar in Champaign, and built homes throughout Central Illinois; she retired to St. Louis to be near her youngest daughter; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn McNeely attended Trinity Lutheran Church; she was a devoted mother and grandmother; and

WHEREAS, Carolyn McNeely is survived by her children, Mona (Colman) Chustz, George (Karen) McNeely IV, Nicholas McNeely, and Anna (Matthew) Roland; her eight grandchildren; and her sister, Joyce (Roy) Thorpe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Carolyn Louise (Hill) McNeely and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carolyn McNeely as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
