SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William F. Drennan of Gurnee, who passed away on June 14, 2019; and

WHEREAS, William Drennan was born in Oak Park to John and Ella Drennan on June 7, 1930; he graduated from Fenwick High School and Loras College; and

WHEREAS, William Drennan spent his career in accounting and finance; he served as treasurer of DBA Products in Lake Bluff for over 20 years; he was treasurer for the Village of Wadsworth for 12 years; and

WHEREAS, William Drennan was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Wadsworth for 54 years, where he served as a member of the first Parish council, as a member of the school board, and, for over 40 years, as an usher; he served on the board for Chicago Studies for many years; he volunteered on the Police Pension Board of Gurnee; he enjoyed his time as treasurer for Little League baseball in Gurnee; he was an avid golfer and a great gin rummy player; he was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame football; he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, William Drennan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John "Jack" Drennan; and

WHEREAS, William Drennan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen; his children, William (Ann) Drennan, Eileen (Jeff) Kregor, John (Cheryl) Drennan, Terry (Anne) Drennan, Patrick (Marilyn) Drennan, and Peggy (Michael) Meagher; his grandchildren, Maggie (Eric Barrowclaugh), Charlie (Ellie), Michael, Katie (Jake Senesac), Sean, Alex, Josh, Chris, Luke, Zach, Frankie, and Jake; and his great-granddaughter, Amelia; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William F. Drennan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Drennan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
