SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Timothy Ray "Tim" Parker of Fort Jacques, Haiti, formerly of Monticello, who passed away on February 14, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Tim Parker was born in Danville on August 5, 1970; he graduated from Monticello High School in 1989; he married Melissa Nance-Leach on September 1, 1991; and

WHEREAS, In 2010, Tim Parker, along with his wife, went on a weeklong mission trip with Crossroads Church in Monticello to the orphanage God's Littlest Angels (GLA) in Haiti; over the next two years, he led several teams to the orphanage and built relationships with the people of Haiti; in 2012, he, Melissa, and Chelsie moved to Haiti to live and work full time with the orphanage, and he spent the last six years in faithful service to many children and families in the mountains of Haiti; and

WHEREAS, Tim Parker had a passion for Jeeps and enjoyed going for drives with his family and the Jeep Club; he was committed to his faith and lived his life accordingly; and

WHEREAS, Tim Parker is survived by his wife, Melissa; his children, Tyler (Rachel) Parker, Chelsie (Steve) Bickel, and Jamesley Parker; his grandchildren, Merrick, Emmitt, and Baby Parker due in July; his parents, Dennis and Inge Parker; his brother, Danny (Debbie) Cole; and his sisters, Cathy (Larry Sebens) McFeeters and Karla (Mark) Wilson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Timothy Ray "Tim" Parker and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tim Parker as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
