SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis Bunk of Gurnee, who passed away on
4February 4, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louis Bunk was born in North Chicago to Louis and
6Emma (Zwicke) Bunk on December 8, 1925; he served with the U.S.
7Army Air Corps as a cadet pilot during World War II and married
8Teresa "Terry" Griffith on October 20, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Louis Bunk retired in 1988 from the North Chicago
10School District as Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Louis Bunk enjoyed fishing and was known as an
12expert fisherman; he and Terry volunteered for PADS and for
13their churches throughout the years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Louis Bunk was preceded in death by his parents
15and his siblings, Edward, Dorothy, and Jacqueline; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Louis Bunk is survived by his wife of 67 years,
17Terry; his children, Ed Bunk, Kathy Bunk, Karen (Kris)
18Thorstenson, and Mary-Lynne (Mark) Ellis; his grandchildren,
19Charise Schultz, Woody Schultz, Marisa Schultz, Kasey (Mike)
20Furlong, and Kyle Thorstenson; his sisters, Mary Lou (Jack)

1McKinney, Joyce (Milt) Meyers, and Margaret (Richard) Sauve;
2and his nieces, nephews, and numerous friends; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Louis Bunk and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
6friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Louis Bunk as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
