SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lillian Kay Sargeant, who passed away on August 30, 2020 at the age of 82; and

WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was born in Neillsville, Wisconsin and spent most of her life in the Chicago area; she was a beloved teacher and loving mother; and

WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was beloved by children; she graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1961 with a degree in education; she spent her entire career teaching kindergarten, which was her passion and gift, at Western Avenue School in Geneva; she was also a dog lover and baked a delicious red velvet cake; and

WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was married for 59 years to the late Roger Sargeant and was the sister of the late John Barton; and

WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was the beloved mother of Susan Buczkowski and Thomas Sargeant and the devoted grandmother of Franklin and Leo; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lillian Kay Sargeant and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lillian Kay Sargeant as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
