SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jean Lena, who passed away on August 28, 2020 at the age of 89; and

WHEREAS, Jean Lena was born in Chicago to Eugene and Eulalia Riccio; and

WHEREAS, Jean Lena was a proud, 35-year retired employee of West Suburban Hospital, where she is fondly remembered as "Operator Jean"; and

WHEREAS, Jean Lena enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and beautifying her home and garden; and

WHEREAS, Jean Lena was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronald; her granddaughter, Maggie Cartwright; and her sister, Marie Wolande; and

WHEREAS, Jean Lena is survived by her children, Karen Cartwright, and Richard, Tom, and Diane Lena; her grandchildren, Lauren Trisler, and Jean, Frank, Madeline, Charlie, Molly, Christine, Matthew, and Michael Lena; and her great-grandchildren, Jack, Audra, and Carmella; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jean Lena and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jean Lena as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
