SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael "Mike" L. Ryan of Silvis, who passed away on November 15, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Mike Ryan was born to John and Elsie (Tegethoff) Ryan in Sigourney, Iowa on September 10, 1945; he served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, where he received several service medals; he married Mary Jo Wissbaum in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on October 23, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Mike Ryan worked at Farmall in Rock Island, the Rock Island Lines, and then for Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf before retiring in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Mike Ryan loved all animals and was a founding members of the Quad City Dog Obedience Club; and

WHEREAS, Mike Ryan enjoyed spending his time woodworking; he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Mike Ryan was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Mike Ryan is survived by his wife; his daughter, Wendy (Andy) Rogers; his grandson, Brady Rogers; his siblings, Kathryn Ryan and William Ryan; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael "Mike" L. Ryan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike Ryan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
