SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jess W. Bowling of Silvis, who passed away on October 13, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jess Bowling was born in Scottsburg, Indiana to Henry Marcus and Pearly Baker Bowling on November 30, 1945; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era; and

WHEREAS, Jess Bowling enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and traveling with his brothers; he was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; and

WHEREAS, Jess Bowling was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Woodrow Bowling, Matthew Bowling, Henry "Lee" Bowling, McKinley Bowling, Jacqueline Jones, and Pauline Hoffman; six nephews; and one niece; and

WHEREAS, Jess Bowling is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Schumacher, Mary Showalter, and Denise (Dennis) Anton; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jess W. Bowling and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jess Bowling as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
