SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jimmy Dwayne "Jim" Hannah of Port Byron, who passed away on September 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hannah was born in Michigan City, Indiana to James and Beulah (Kilgore) Hannah on January 4, 1957; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Claire Jean Ditto on October 27, 1990; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hannah was a forklift operator; most recently, he worked for R&L Carriers; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hannah loved baseball and was a huge Chicago Cubs fan; he also loved the Raiders football team; he enjoyed getting scratch off lottery tickets, doing yardwork, and tending his flowers; and

WHEREAS, Jim Hannah is survived by his wife, Claire; his children, Brandi (Michael) Galinowski, Chris (Amy) Lawrenz, Dawn (Donald) Silvers, and Renee (Daniel) McGinty; his grandchildren, Tyler Galinowski, James Baker, Danielle Keel, Elizabeth Silvers, Allison Silvers, Hunter Fox, Madeline McGinty, Abigail McGinty, Samuel McGinty, Brenden Lawrenz, Laura Sutton, Emily Sutton, and James Lawrenz; and his six great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jimmy Dwayne "Jim" Hannah and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Hannah as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
