SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stanley "Mike" Riordan of Bloomington, who passed away on August 15, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Mike Riordan was born to Stanley and Mildred Thompson Riordan in Normal on September 14, 1950; he was a United States Army veteran and served in Korea and Japan; he married Jean L. Runge in Normal on March 29, 1975; and

WHEREAS, Mike Riordan was self-employed and ran many businesses through the years; and

WHEREAS, Mike Riordan dedicated 34 years to coaching and left an organizational legacy for the Twin City Tigers youth football program; he coached his three sons in football and baseball throughout their youth; and

WHEREAS, Mike Riordan enjoyed spoiling his family with his holiday bargain shopping, fishing, spending time with his kids and grandchildren, and listening to good music; he was a diehard Atlanta Braves and Phoenix Cardinals fan; and

WHEREAS, Mike Riordan was preceded in death by his grandson, Logan Riordan, and his sister, Joann Hopper; and

WHEREAS, Mike Riordan is survived by his wife; his three sons, Corey (Jess Dailey) Riordan, Conrad (Kelli) Riordan, and Colby (Lexi Worth) Riordan; his six grandchildren, Courtney, Sydni, Cash, Khloe, Ryder, and Axel Riordan; his two sisters, Stanna Breen and Linda Loggins; his mother-in-law, Ruth Brady; his three sisters-in-law, Sandy (Dave) Shaffer, Cheri Wachob, and Susan (Bill) Bratcher; his one brother-in-law, Doug (Elizabeth) Brady; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the passing of Stanley "Mike" Riordan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike Riordan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
