SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Martin Navarro of Moline, who passed away
4on August 10, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Martin Navarro was born in Moline to Geronimo and
6Maria (Davila) Navarro on May 4, 1922; he married Julia V.
7Garnica in Davenport, Iowa on June 12, 1942, and she preceded
8him in death on February 7, 2009; he served in the U.S. Army
9from 1942 to 1945; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Martin Navarro served as post commander of VFW
118890 and quarter master of the Los Amigo Drum and Bugle Corp.;
12he attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline; he enjoyed
13singing and playing the guitar; he loved spending time with his
14family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Martin Navarro was preceded in death by his wife,
17Julia; his son, Ricardo Navarro; his parents; his
18daughter-in-law, Patricia Navarro; his son-in-law, Donald
19Howarth; his brothers, Joe and Angel; and his sisters, Antonia
20and Virginia; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Martin Navarro is survived by his children, Monica

1"Mo" Howarth, Gloria "Glo" (Ted) Girton Logan, Ramon (Mary)
2Navarro, David (Becky) Navarro, Daniel Navarro Sr., and
3Patricia (Mariano) Acosta; his 14 grandchildren; his 32
4great-grandchildren; his one great-great-grandchild; his
5brother, Andrika "Hank" Navarro; and his adopted dog, Max;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Martin Navarro and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Martin Navarro as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
