SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Byrl Dean Weiss of East Moline, who
4passed away on June 16, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Byrl Weiss was born in Clarion, Iowa to Charlie
6Weiss and Marian (Smith) Weiss on December 27, 1940; he served
7in the U.S. Army, and he was stationed in the Philippines as a
8part of Military Intelligence; he received his master's degree
9from the University of Iowa; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Byrl Weiss taught at Glenview Middle School for 35
11years and in the Philippines for one year; he coached football,
12basketball, and wrestling throughout his time at Glenview
13Middle School; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Byrl Weiss ran the Summer Camp Program at Camp
15Hauberg for many years; he worked at the YMCA in his spare
16time, and he hosted annual "Big Foot" adventures for area
17youth; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Byrl Weiss was a longtime member of Christ United
19Methodist Church; he enjoyed golfing and bowling in his early
20years; he loved reading; and

1    WHEREAS, Byrl Weiss was preceded in death by his parents
2and his brothers, Charles and Harold; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Byrl Weiss is survived by his siblings, Betty Baff
4and William Weiss; his nieces and nephews, Stacey Graham,
5Charles Weiss, Melinda O'Shea, Shari Robinson, Daniel Weiss,
6Dennis Weiss, and Douglas Weiss; and his numerous great-nieces
7and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Byrl Dean Weiss and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Byrl Weiss as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
