SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael "Mike" J. David of East Moline, who passed away on July 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Mike David was born to Howard and Lila (Johnson) David in Rock Island on February 2, 1948; he married Sandra Berthoud, with whom he raised two children; he served in the U.S. Navy; and

WHEREAS, Mike David was a bartender at the West Inn in East Moline; he also worked as a welder and most recently in maintenance at the Black Hawk Hills Apartments; and

WHEREAS, Mike David enjoyed making enchiladas, cooking Thanksgiving dinners, and being with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mike David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Mike David is survived by his children, Anessa (Louie) Dooley, and Michael J. David II; his eight grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren with one on the way; and his siblings, Larry David, Jerry David, Donna Coons, and Doris "Doty" Melchi; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael "Mike" J. David and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike David as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
