SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Allen "Al" Tysma of East Moline, who passed away on June 13, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Al Tysma was born in Beltrami, Minnesota to John and Gertrude "Gerti" (Epema) Tysma on April 13, 1936; he served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1959 and married Helen Ewalt at the First Christian Church in Moline on April 23, 1979; and

WHEREAS, Al Tysma retired from John Deere Plow Planter in Moline in 1992 after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Al Tysma was a member of the Moose and the Masons; he enjoyed playing euchre, fishing, and boating; he and Helen enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years; and

WHEREAS, Al Tysma was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Sophie Tysma; his grandson, Kevin Mundt; his sister, Marie (Marv) White; his stepbrother, Ted Bohl; and his stepsister, Linda (Al) Lovestead; and

WHEREAS, Al Tysma is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Diana (Bo) Eckert, John (Renee) Tysma, Bradley (Linda) Small, Rodney Small (Dave Sullivan), and Debbie (Roger) Peterson; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Ray (Phyllis) Tysma; his stepbrother, Ron (Norma) Bohl; his stepsister-in-law, Carolyn Bohl; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Allen "Al" Tysma and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Al Tysma as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
