SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Calvin W. Williams of Hopedale, who passed away on May 7, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Williams was born in Bloomington to Robert and Dolores Matthews Williams on April 9, 1952; he married Bonnie E. Meredith; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Williams was a manager of forestry and safety for Corn Belt Electric for 40 years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Williams loved his family; he enjoyed spending time with his pets and the trees; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Williams was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Williams is survived by his wife; his daughter, Jennifer (Terry) Brown; his son, James (Christine) Williams; his sister, Edie Gummere; his brother, Terry (Vicki) Williams; and his granddaughter, Kahlan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Calvin W. Williams and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Calvin Williams as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
