SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald E. Jones of Hillsdale, who passed away on April 30, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Donald Jones was born to Orland and Dorathy (Martin) Jones in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania on December 26, 1942; he served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965; he married Shirley M. Dhooge on June 1, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Donald Jones was employed as a radiation technician at Exelon Nuclear; and

WHEREAS, Donald Jones loved fishing and playing slow pitch softball; he was a good cook, enjoyed working puzzles, and playing bingo; and

WHEREAS, Donald Jones was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Buzzard; his three brothers, Sam, Charles, and Jim Jones; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Gabriel Dhooge; his brother-in-law, Donald Dhooge; and his sister-in-law, Sue Ann Dhooge; and

WHEREAS, Donald Jones is survived by his wife, Shirley; his daughter, Carey Feller; his sons, Andy Jones and Tony Jones; his sisters, Nancy Jones, Sally Coder, and Barb (Joe) Gula; his brother, Bill Jones; his sisters-in-law, Janet Jones, Jane Jones, and Judy Jones; and his four grandchildren, Nicholas and Adam Waldbusser and Lee and Michael Jones; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald E. Jones and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Jones as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
