SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul Leon Robinson of Carterville, who passed away on January 12, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson was born in Bush to Paul J. and Hazel (Newton) Robinson on December 15, 1938; he married Bertha O'Brien at the Bush Pentecostal Church on November 29, 1958; he served in the U.S. Army and was awarded for his service as a truck mechanic and ambulance driver; and

WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson worked in healthcare administration for several years; he served as Administrator at Marion Memorial, Belleville Memorial, Logan Primary, and DayStar Care Center, among others; he worked with many small businesses and doctors' offices throughout the area; for several years, he also worked with American Church Builders to build churches across the country alongside his brother, Butch; and

WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson was deeply committed to his faith and was a devoted member of Marion First Apostolic Church for more than 40 years; he had most recently served as the church's secretary and treasurer; he was also known as a multi-talented craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands, whether building and overseeing many personal construction projects and house remodels or tinkering in his barn; and

WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, LaDonna Clark; and his brother-in-law, David Clark; and

WHEREAS, Paul Leon Robinson is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bertha Robinson; his son, PJ (Donna) Robinson; his grandsons, Corley Paul James, Dallon Jay, and Brandt Hampton Robinson; his brother, Raymond "Butch" Eugene (Connie J.) Robinson; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul Leon Robinson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Leon Robinson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
