HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Deidre
4Lynn "Dee" Lee, who passed away on October 2, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee was born in Harvey to Earlie Mae and
6Melvin Abbott on July 26, 1960; she attended Second Baptist
7Church in Harvey and graduated from Thornton Township High
8School in Harvey in 1978, where she participated in many clubs
9and extracurricular activities; she continued her education at
10Columbia College in downtown Chicago; she met Ronnie L. Lee at
11St. Mark MBC Cathedral, and they were married in August of
121997; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee worked for Washington Cemetery,
14Playboy Magazine, the Berglund Construction Company, and
15Roseland Hospital as administrative assistance to the regional
16director; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee and her husband founded the Nehemiah
18Christian Center Ministries, originally in the city of Robbins,
19in February of 2001; she served in various roles, including as
20a member of the Praise Team, as an administrator, and then as
21pastor of the Women's Ministry; and

1    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee received her Church Planter Training
2Certificate of Completion in June of 2000; she was licensed to
3preach the gospel in August of 2006 and was ordained as a
4minister in September of 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee served as the Leading Lady in the State
6of Illinois alongside her husband, who in August 2014 was
7consecrated and appointed as Illinois State Bishop of the New
8Century Fellowship of Churches; she also served as the Leading
9Lady of Impact Covenant Fellowship of Illinois alongside her
10husband, who served as Episcopal Prelate; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee was a loving wife and mother and
12balanced motherhood and ministry with near perfection; she was
13devoted to her family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee was preceded in death by her father,
15Melvin Abbott; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Deidre Lee is survived by her mother, Earlie Mae
17Abbott; her husband, Bishop Ronnie L. Lee; her daughters,
18Nikeela Kioca Oliver, Shekinah Lynn Lee, Meghan Faith Payton,
19and Melanie Joy Lee; her Godson, Michael King; her grandson,
20Taharka Payton Jr.; her granddaughter, Maleah Lee; her sister,
21Mavis Abbott; her sisters-in-law, Sylvia Tidwell, Doris
22(Kenny) Johnson, and Patricia Lee Smith; her brothers-in-law,

1Earl Lee Jr. and Eugene (Jill) Matthews; her mother-in-law,
2Hannah M. Lee; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
3cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we mourn the passing of Deidre Lynn "Dee" Lee and extend our
7sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
8and loved her; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Deidre Lee as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
