HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Our nation celebrated the 245th birthday of the
3United States Army on June 14, 2020, and we give thanks to the
4U.S. Army and to all of the soldiers, civilians, and families
5for their selfless service and sacrifice in the protection of
6our nation; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The U.S. Army is comprised of soldiers of varying
8ideas, beliefs, and backgrounds, which helps make the U.S. Army
9the respected, diverse organization it is today; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The U.S. Army is the best trained, best equipped,
11and most talented force in the world; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The U.S. Army conducted its first "Army National
13Hiring Days" nationwide campaign, with the goal of hiring
1410,000 new soldiers, from June 30, 2020 through July 2, 2020;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Through the campaign, the U.S. Army sought to hire
17full-time and part-time soldiers in the federal and state
18service; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The U.S. Army offers career opportunities in 150
20fields, including cyber, artificial intelligence, healthcare,

1aviation, data analysis, and many more high demand areas; it
2also offers a comprehensive benefits package that gives our
3soldiers and their families peace of mind, now and in the
4future; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The U.S. Army offers executive leadership
6opportunities for college students and graduates, and it is the
7largest provider of scholarships in the nation, enabling
8scholars and athletes to attend college and become officers;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate the United States Army on its first "Army
13National Hiring Days" campaign and thank all the soldiers and
14civilians who make up the U.S. Army for their service to our
15great nation.
