HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4the lives of Illinois citizens; and
 
5    WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that William "Bill"
6and Kay German will be celebrating their 70th wedding
7anniversary on January 29, 2020; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Bill German was born on January 26, 1930; Kay
9German was born on July 14, 1931; they married on January 29,
101950; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill German started his career in the insurance
12industry with his father-in-law, T.E. Murphy, at the Murphy
13Agency in Princeville; he eventually became Chairman of the
14Board of Princeville State Bank; he is active in the community
15through the Princeville Civic Association and has served on the
16Peoria Zoning Board; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bill and Kay German are active members of the
18Princeville United Methodist Church; Kay is the church's
19longest sustaining member; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bill and Kay German have two daughters, Kathy

1(Bill) Messersmith and Julie (Greg) Wilson, one grandson,
2Andrew (Lesa) Black, three granddaughters, Beth (Nathan)
3Kurtz, Kaelynn Wilson, and Rebecca Wilson, five
4great-grandchildren, Matthew (Lauren) Black, Landon Kurtz,
5Riley Kurtz, Melody Kurtz, and Madalee Wilson, and three
6great-great-grandchildren, Addison Black, Samuel Black and
7Charlotte Black; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
9HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10we congratulate Bill and Kay German on the occasion of their
1170th wedding anniversary and wish them continued happiness as
12they celebrate on September 7, 2019; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to Bill and Kay German as an expression of our
15esteem.
