HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in the lives of Illinois citizens; and

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that William "Bill" and Kay German will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on January 29, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Bill German was born on January 26, 1930; Kay German was born on July 14, 1931; they married on January 29, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Bill German started his career in the insurance industry with his father-in-law, T.E. Murphy, at the Murphy Agency in Princeville; he eventually became Chairman of the Board of Princeville State Bank; he is active in the community through the Princeville Civic Association and has served on the Peoria Zoning Board; and

WHEREAS, Bill and Kay German are active members of the Princeville United Methodist Church; Kay is the church's longest sustaining member; and

WHEREAS, Bill and Kay German have two daughters, Kathy (Bill) Messersmith and Julie (Greg) Wilson, one grandson, Andrew (Lesa) Black, three granddaughters, Beth (Nathan) Kurtz, Kaelynn Wilson, and Rebecca Wilson, five great-grandchildren, Matthew (Lauren) Black, Landon Kurtz, Riley Kurtz, Melody Kurtz, and Madalee Wilson, and three great-great-grandchildren, Addison Black, Samuel Black and Charlotte Black; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Bill and Kay German on the occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary and wish them continued happiness as they celebrate on September 7, 2019; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bill and Kay German as an expression of our esteem.
