HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Officer Eduardo "Lalo" Marmolejo of Chicago, who was killed in the line of duty on December 17, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Officer Marmolejo had been with the Chicago Police Department for two and a half years and was assigned to the Calumet police district; he was hailed as a humble hero who, in his short career, had already received many department commendations; prior to his service with the police department, he worked as an ER technician at Advocate Christ Medical Center; and

WHEREAS, Officer Marmolejo was an exemplary officer who displayed selflessness and a sense of duty; and

WHEREAS, Officer Marmolejo was the beloved husband of Maria (Perez), the proud father of Rebeca, Madalyn, and Sofia, the cherished son of Manuel and Rebeca (Richarte), the loving brother of Luis, Lorena, Angelica, and Rogelio, the son-in-law of Charles Quinones and Anna Armenta, the dear brother-in-law of Angelica (Hugo) and Charles Jr. (Dana), and the fond uncle of Nicholas, Melanie, David, Aiden, Emily, Emma Sophia, and Charlie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Officer Eduardo "Lalo" Marmolejo and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Officer Marmolejo as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
