HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Danny Rieger on the occasion of his retirement from the Bloomington Country Club after 42 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Danny Rieger's career in maintaining golf courses began when he worked as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at the Urbana Country Club; he moved to the Bloomington Country Club in 1977 to work as the Assistant Superintendent; in 1984, he was promoted to Golf Course Superintendent; and

WHEREAS, Over his years at the Bloomington Country Club, Danny Rieger oversaw countless projects and improvements to the golf course and buildings, including re-grassing of the greens and fairways and a new irrigation system in 2000; most recently, he oversaw the reconstruction of the golf course bunkers and acted as general contractor for the construction of a new cart storage facility; the improvements he made to the club have had a great impact, making it what it is today; he and his team have created a reputation for top-notch golf course conditions that has attracted many high-level amateur golf tournaments, including the 2018 Illinois State Amateur Championship; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Danny Rieger was not only a key part of the team at Bloomington Country Club but also a steward of the golf industry, having served as president of the Central Illinois Golf Course Superintendents Association twice and having spent many years on its board of directors; and

WHEREAS, Along with his work on the course, Danny Rieger is also a family man; he and his wife Becky have two children and two grandchildren, who all reside in the area; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Danny Rieger on his retirement from the Bloomington Country Club after 42 years and wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Danny Rieger as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
