HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Lavin Cassidy School of Irish Dance on all of their recent accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, The Lavin Cassidy School of Irish Dance competed at the 2018 World Irish Dancing Championships in Glasgow, Scotland and will again compete at the 2019 World Irish Dancing Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, The Lavin Cassidy School of Irish Dance saw a great deal of success at the 2018 competition; the 1st Place Globe Winners: Under 19 Ladies Ceili were Alyssa Hoban, Elizabeth Gildea, Tara Campbell, Caitlin Langs, Kiley Ross (World Qualifying Soloist), Grace O'Brien (World Qualifying Soloist), Maura Doyle (World Qualifying Soloist), and Megan Wagner (World Recall Soloist (U17 Ladies), 27th Place); and

WHEREAS, The 1st Place Globe Winners: Under 16 Girls Ceili were Claire McInerney, Hannah McGillian, Annie Shea, Sydney Rozhon, Abby Chesniak, Abby Perry (World Qualifying Soloist), Maggie O'Malley (World Qualifying Soloist), and Molly Ross (World Recall Soloist (U16 Girls), 38th Place); and

WHEREAS, The World Globe Winners - Solo Competitions were Ashton Bauman (U12 Boys) 1st Place, Tadgh Spillane (U17 Men's) 4th Place, and Jack Bullington (U14 Boys) 5th Place; and

WHEREAS, The World Medal Winners - Solo Competitions were Rowan Coyle (U14 Girls) 13th Place and Michalene Donnelly (U16 Girls) 17th Place; and

WHEREAS, The World Recalled Winners - Solo Competitions were Catherine McDaniels (U13 Girls) 25th Place, Annabel Brayer (U13 Girls) 31st Place, Caylieh O'Hare (U14 Girls) 38th Place, and Claire Cromheeke (U11 Girls) 38th Place; and

WHEREAS, The World Qualifying Dancers were Evan Rozhon, Aoife Stover, Mary Kate Daly, Courtney Mayo, Kevin Blake, Aileen Chesniak, Gwen Wragg, and Nora Wragg; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Lavin Cassidy School of Irish Dance on all of their recent accomplishments, commend their hard work and dedication, and wish them the best as they compete in the 2019 World Irish Dancing Championships; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Lavin Cassidy School of Dance and each of the names mentioned above as an expression of our esteem and respect.
