HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
4Taylorville Police Officer Gary Jones, who passed away on March
53, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Officer Jones was born to Robert and Pamela Jones
7on August 20, 1971; he graduated from Taylorville High School
8in 1989 and served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard; he
9married Regina "Gina" Garren at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
10Taylorville on July 2, 1993; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Officer Jones bravely served with the Taylorville
12Police Department in the town in which he was raised and loved
13so dearly; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Officer Jones was a firearms enthusiast and a
15member of the NRA; he was a gunsmith, master firearms
16instructor, and a concealed-carry instructor; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Officer Jones was active in the community; he was
18a member of the Police Benevolent and Protective Association
19and St. Mary's Catholic Church; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Officer Jones was a loving father and husband; and

1    WHEREAS, Officer Jones is survived by his wife, Gina; his
2children, Logan, Kaylee, Tanner, and Dylan; his parents; his
3father-in-law, Harry Garren; his siblings, Stephanie (Kevin)
4Monahan, Kim Jones, and Jacob (Heather) Jones; and several
5nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we mourn the passing of Taylorville Police Officer Gary Jones
9and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and
10all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Officer Jones as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
