SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Urgent Care Price Transparency Act. Requires a facility that provides urgent care to post and make available the prices for the top 10 procedures or treatments that the facility regularly performs.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Urgent Care Price Transparency Act.

Section 5. Definitions. In this Act, "urgent care" means the delivery of ambulatory medical care outside of a hospital emergency department on a walk-in basis without a scheduled appointment.

Section 10. Posting requirements. A facility that provides urgent care, whether or not the facility is owned or operated by a hospital licensed under the Hospital Licensing Act or organized under the University of Illinois Hospital Act, must post and make available the prices for the top 10 procedures or treatments that the facility regularly performs.
