SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Evidence from Illegal Searches Act. Provides that it is unlawful for a law enforcement officer to provide any evidence to any federal agency or federal department if such evidence has been found by an Illinois court to have been obtained as a result of an illegal search. Defines "law enforcement officer".

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning local government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Evidence from Illegal Searches Act.

Section 5. Definition. As used in this Act, "law enforcement officer" has the meaning given to that term in Section 10-10 of the Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera Act.

Section 10. Evidence obtained from illegal searches. It is unlawful for a law enforcement officer to provide any evidence to any federal agency or federal department if such evidence has been found by an Illinois court to have been obtained as a result of an illegal search.
