SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
New Act

    Creates the Evidence from Illegal Searches Act. Provides that it is unlawful for a law enforcement officer to provide any evidence to any federal agency or federal department if such evidence has been found by an Illinois court to have been obtained as a result of an illegal search. Defines "law enforcement officer".

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5Evidence from Illegal Searches Act.
 
6    Section 5. Definition. As used in this Act, "law
7enforcement officer" has the meaning given to that term in
8Section 10-10 of the Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera
9Act.
 
10    Section 10. Evidence obtained from illegal searches. It is
11unlawful for a law enforcement officer to provide any evidence
12to any federal agency or federal department if such evidence
13has been found by an Illinois court to have been obtained as a
14result of an illegal search.
