SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 130/8A-23 new

Amends the Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984. Provides that the Architect of the Capitol, in conjunction with the Board of the Office of the Architect of the Capitol and the Secretary of State, shall designate parking spaces in the parking areas serving the buildings and facilities of the legislative complex to be reserved for and used by pregnant women, parents expecting the birth of a child, and parents of newborn children. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984 is amended by adding Section 8A-23 as follows:

(25 ILCS 130/8A-23 new)

Sec. 8A-23. Expectant parent parking. The Architect of the Capitol, in conjunction with the Board of the Office of the Architect of the Capitol and the Secretary of State, shall designate parking spaces in the parking areas serving the buildings and facilities of the legislative complex to be reserved for and used by pregnant women, parents expecting the birth of a child, and parents of newborn children.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
