SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

305 ILCS 5/16.5a new

Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to make expedited payments to long-term care facilities if at least 60% of their residents are eligible for medical assistance.

AN ACT concerning medical assistance.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by adding Section 16.5a as follows:

(305 ILCS 5/16.5a new)

Sec. 16.5a. Expedited payments; long-term care facilities. Notwithstanding any other rule or law, the Department shall make expedited payments to a long-term care facility if at least 60% of its residents are eligible for medical assistance under this Article.
