SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

5 ILCS 420/2-105 new
    Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Provides that no legislator while serving as a member of the General Assembly shall concurrently serve as the chairperson for a statewide political party.

1     AN ACT concerning government.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is amended
5 by adding Section 2-105 as follows:

6     (5 ILCS 420/2-105 new)
7     Sec. 2-105. Legislator serving as a political party
8 chairperson. No legislator while serving as a member of the
9 General Assembly shall concurrently serve as the chairperson
10 for a statewide political party.
