Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Increases from $15,000,000 to $30,000,000 the amount the General Assembly shall appropriate annually for apportionment to counties for construction of bridges 20 feet or more in length. Provides that, with respect to $15,000,000 of the $30,000,000 to be appropriated annually, the amount apportioned to a county shall be in the proportion that the number of bridges in disrepair (rather than the mileage of townships or district roads) in the county, as certified by the Department of Transportation, bears to the number of those bridges in the State, as certified by the Department.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Increases from $15,000,000 to $30,000,000 the amount the General Assembly shall appropriate annually for apportionment to counties for construction of bridges 20 feet or more in length.
Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the amended bill, with additions. Provides that the amount of grant for an approved road district project shall require at least $1 of local funds committed to the project for each $9 (rather than for each $4) that may be allocated under the Code.
