Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Park District Aquarium and Museum Act. Provides that any aquarium or museum organized under this Act must be open to the public without charge for a period equivalent to 26 days each year (now 52 days). Effective immediately.
House Floor Amendment No. 4 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Park District Aquarium and Museum Act. Provides that for a period of 3 years beginning on the effective date of the amendatory Act, any aquarium or museum organized under the Act must be open to persons who reside in this State without charge for a period equivalent to: (i) for persons 23 years of age and younger, 52 days, at least 6 of which must be during the period from June through August, each year; and (ii) for persons older than 23 years of age, 26 days, at least 6 of which must be during the period from June through August, each year (currently, such aquarium or museum must be open without charge to all residents 52 days per year). Effective immediately.
