Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Changes the requirement that second division vehicles be subject to safety inspections from once every 6 months to once every 12 months. Increases the cost of safety certificates from $1 to $2. Effective January 1, 2014.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title.

625 ILCS 5/13-111from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 13-111

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that operating a motor vehicle without a required certificate of safety is a petty offense with a minimum fine of $95 and a maximum fine of $250, unless the violation is contemporaneous with a motor vehicle accident, in which case a violation is a Class C misdemeanor.
