Deletes reference to:
820 ILCS 151/1
Adds reference to:
820 ILCS 151/5

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Family Military Leave Act by adding a child and grandparent of a person called to military service to the employees who may request family military leave.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Adds reference to:
820 ILCS 151/10

Amends provisions of the Family Military Leave Act stating that an employer that employs more than 50 employees shall provide up to 30 days of unpaid family military leave to an employee during the time federal or State deployment orders are in effect. Adds language stating that the number of days of leave provided to an employee because the employee's spouse or child is called to military service shall be reduced by the number of days of leave provided to the employee under specified provisions of the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 because of any qualifying exigency arising out of the fact that the employee's spouse or child is on covered active duty (or has been notified of an impending call or order to covered active duty) in the Armed Forces.
